Following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) signed on 28 August 2003, the parties are inviting scientists from both South Africa and Japan to submit joint research proposals. These may be submitted in the following designated thematic areas prioritised by the South Africa/Japan collaboration: the humanities; social sciences and natural sciences.
South African applications from previously disadvantaged individuals are encouraged.
The closing date is 12 September 2013.
