The National Research Foundation (NRF) invites researchers to submit proposals for joint projects in the following areas of science and technology (S&T):
- Humanities
- Social Sciences
- Natural Sciences
The National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) entered into a MoU in 2005 as implementers following a 2003 Agreement on cooperation in science and technology between South Africa and Japan. The main objective of the collaboration is to contribute to scientific advancement in both countries through the funding of joint research activities in specified research fields.
