The National Research Foundation (NRF) invites researchers to submit proposals for joint research projects involving South African and South Korean researchers, following the bilateral agreement on cooperation between South Africa and the Republic of South Korea in science and technology which was signed in the Republic of Korea in February 2004. The areas of focus are:
- Bio-technology
- Nano-technology
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Hydrogen and fuel cells
