Research proposals for the following programmes are now open:

  • South Africa – Namibia joint science and technology research programme 2013

The funding programme will support projects in biosciences, space science, indigenous knowledge systems, climate change and ICT. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2013.

  • South Africa – Fonds Wetenschappellijk Onderzoek (FWO) of Flanders, Belgium joint science and technology research collaboration 2012/2013

Projects in the following areas will be considered: biotechnology, nanotechnology and humanities, astronomy, human-social dynamics, global change/environment and ICT.  The deadline for applications is 1 March 2013.

  • Swiss – South African Joint Research Programme (SSAJRP) 2012 -2013

The programme will support projects in public health and biomedicine, biotechnology and nanotechnology, greentech and cleantech, and humanities and social sciences related to the above thematic areas. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2013.

The programme will support research in health, ICT, palaeontology, nanomaterials (manufacturing), agriculture value addition (processing and packaging) and animal embryo transplants. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2013.
