{"id":2316,"date":"2014-03-31T13:07:43","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T13:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/strategicpartnerships.csir.co.za\/?p=2316"},"modified":"2014-04-02T06:55:24","modified_gmt":"2014-04-02T06:55:24","slug":"horizon-2020-%e2%80%93-the-eus-new-research-and-innovation-programme-31-march-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/strategicpartnerships.csir.co.za\/?p=2316","title":{"rendered":"Horizon 2020 \u2013 the EU&#8217;s new research and innovation Programme 31 March 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>How is funding organised under Horizon 2020?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Horizon 2020 is built around three pillars:<\/p>\n<p>1) Support for &#8220;Excellent Science&#8221; \u2013 including grants for individual researchers from the European Research Council and Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie fellowships (formerly known as Marie Curie fellowships);<\/p>\n<p>2) Support for &#8220;Industrial Leadership&#8221; \u2013 including grants for small and medium-sized enterprises and indirect finance for companies through the European Investment Bank and other financial intermediaries;<\/p>\n<p>3) Support for research to tackle &#8220;societal challenges&#8221;.
