{"id":2645,"date":"2015-01-21T11:58:04","date_gmt":"2015-01-21T11:58:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/strategicpartnerships.csir.co.za\/?p=2645"},"modified":"2015-01-21T13:31:43","modified_gmt":"2015-01-21T13:31:43","slug":"incentive-funding-for-rated-researchers-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/strategicpartnerships.csir.co.za\/?p=2645","title":{"rendered":"Incentive funding for rated researchers 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Announcement from the National Research Foundation:<\/p>\n<p>In 2007, Higher Education South Africa (HESA) conducted a review of the National Research Foundation\u2019s evaluation and rating system.\u00a0 Following this review, HESA acknowledged and endorsed the value that evaluation and rating add to the NRF\u2019s research support and advancement vision.<\/p>\n<p>The report of the review recommended that the National Research Foundation (NRF) re-establishes the evaluation and rating system link to funding.\u00a0 Based on this recommendation, Incentive Funding for Rated Researchers (IFRR) was created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A<\/strong><strong>pplicants must ensure that their <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Curriculum Vitae<\/span> are updated on the NRF Online Submission system at <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mail.nrf.ac.za\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=N6VaomBNyEmWUm26kJ4JzZCkT6BdndBI0S9MfNzLNxBcfS2VCGGlh7wvJbkr-l_xVWv5VlOV0Q0.&amp;URL=https%3a%2f%2fnrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>https:\/\/nrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Applications<\/span><\/strong><strong> must be submitted electronically on the NRF Online Submission System at <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mail.nrf.ac.za\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=N6VaomBNyEmWUm26kJ4JzZCkT6BdndBI0S9MfNzLNxBcfS2VCGGlh7wvJbkr-l_xVWv5VlOV0Q0.&amp;URL=https%3a%2f%2fnrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>https:\/\/nrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The online application form consists of two sections: <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Funding Information &#8211; <\/strong>where the system displays the rating.\u00a0\u00a0 Researchers have to complete the fields to compose their research profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Budget<\/strong>&#8211; this is not a research proposal, but a budget motivation per annum must be provided for the duration of an NRF rating. The section that was completed for the rating application called \u201cOngoing and planned future research\u201d will be migrated from the rating application at <a href=\"https:\/\/submission.nrf.ac.za\/\">https:\/\/submission.nrf.ac.za<\/a> to the section \u201cTotal Expected Outputs\u201d to guide researchers to align the budget to these goals. If the rating application was done on an earlier online system, this field will be empty.<\/li>\n<li>For further information please view the Funding
