Indumathy, Dr Arvind Kumar,<\/p><\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\">A delegation from India\u2019s Department of Science and Technology (DST) recently visited the CSIR as part of its efforts to \u201cfocus on ways to maximise multilateral and regional partnerships with international stakeholders\u201d. During the visit, Head of the Indian DST\u2019s International, Multilateral and Regional Cooperation Division, Dr Sadhana Relia, expressed her department\u2019s intentions to \u201cpartner India\u2019s centres of excellence with South African institutions to enable partnership in areas of mutual interest\u201d. Some of the potential areas of collaboration identified include affordable health treatments, sustainable natural resources, water security, oceanography and climate change.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" \" src=\"http:\/\/www.csir.co.za\/news\/2011\/09\/images\/India%20delegation%20visit%20006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"203\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr Rachel Chikwamba, CSIR Biosciences Competency Area Manager: Expression Systems<\/p><\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\">The CSIR was represented by Berenice Lue Marais, CSIR Strategic Alliances Manager; Dr Rachel Chikwamba, CSIR Biosciences Competency Area Manager: Expression Systems; and Senzo Makhathini, CSIR Natural Resources and the Environment Contract Research and Development Manager.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\u201cThe CSIR is pleased to engage with the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) trilateral because of the opportunity to share experiences and engage in scientific exchange with institutions in India and Brazil,\u201d said Lue Marais.
