Following the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between Kenya and South Africa in the area of science and technology in August 2004, the National Research Foundation (NRF) invites researchers to submit joint proposals in the following areas:
- Biosciences (food, agriculture and biotechnology; health and indigenous knowledge);
- Space science (astronomy and earth observation); and
- Water management (harvesting, purification and water resource mapping).
The two countries have decided to jointly support researchers from public universities and public research institutes on an equal and mutually beneficial basis in an effort to enhance scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
