South Africa and the Government of Romania signed an agreement 15 September 2004 in Bucharest, Romania aimed at contributing to scientific advancement in both countries through the funding of joint research activities in specified research fields; providing an opportunity for young researchers in the two countries to engage; supporting the advancement of basic research and; contributing meaningfully to research capacity development.
The National Research Foundation (NRF) invites researchers to submit proposals in the following areas:
- Information and Communications /Computer Technology (ICT)
- Bio-economy
- New Materials
- Human and Social Sciences.
