European – South African science and technology advancement programme Information Days: FP7 2012 Calls

ESASTAP will be hosting a series of information days on the funding opportunities afforded by the European Commission’s FP7 2013 Calls launched in July 2012 in a wide variety of themes.

FP7 mobility and the European Research Council (ERC) research programmes such as: Initial training networks (ITN), International Research Staff and Exchange Scheme (IRSES), Start-up and advanced grants as well as the various opportunities for thematic participation. There will also be a presentation on DST funding instruments established to promote SA researcher participation in some of the European Union funding programmes.

There will be two information days consisting of a number of formal presentations delivered by South African National Contact Points (NCPs) and DST representatives followed by a discussion forum to tackle specific issues or questions. Attendance is open for anyone interested and is free of charge.

The following sessions are to be held:

3 September 2012, Knowledge Commons, CSIR, Pretoria from 09:00 till 16h:00
5 September 2012, HSRC, Cape Town from 10:00 till 17:00

It is essential to register as soon as possible as space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. DST will not be providing any funding or assist with logistical and travel arrangement for participants. Video conferencing can be arranged for institutions that would like to link up to the sessions from their institution but interested parties have to notify the ESASTAP team at contact@esastap.org.za as they register for participation.

Registered participants will be kept updated with regard to the agenda and other arrangements.
